More Power Egor!

I realised for the first time this weekend that although the IC-746 is quoted as being 100W on all bands, what you get out is quite a different story. Using the FM mode to create a constant carrier I was getting about 50W out on HF. After taking the rig apart, there are some adjustments that can be made to increase the power out on HF, 50Mhz and 144MHz with a separate AM out power adjustment also. Tuning for “maximum smoke” I now get:

HF 85 -120 Watts out depending on band
50Mhz 82W
144Mhz 60W

So hopefully on the lower HF bands I may put out a better signal than ever before, lets see what reports I get.
